Southwest Airlines can sometimes get you into nearby airports at lower fares. For the Expo, fly into Long Island Airport (ISP) on Southwest, Delta, Northwest US Airways. The airport is also known as islip Airport and Macarthur Airport or LI Macarthur. Spirit Airlines may be servicing Long Island in time for your travel.
JetBlue offers low fares to NY City/LI-NY from the greater Los Angeles and San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose, CA area (Long Beach, Ontario, Oakland Airports in CA); Las Vegas/Henderson/Summerlin, NV; Phoenix/Mesa/Scottsdale/Tempe/Cave Creek/Goodyear/Glendale and other Valley of the Sun cities, Arizona; Columbus, OH; Seattle, WA; Buffalo, NY; Salt Lake City, UT; Tucson, AZ; New Orleans and several airport cities in Florida. They fly into Kennedy International (JFK) and LaGuardia (LGA.)

Expo management suggests that you contact the airlines online and Marriott hotel via the special phone number listed, or via their web sites which you can access via links on this site. PLEASE make sure that you use the GROUP BOOKING CODE when making your reservations in order for you to get the lower group rates.
Again, hotel rooms at the discount room block rate are limited, so please reserve early!

There is a window of days during which the discounts on hotel rates will apply. Most of the time it is about 3-4 days prior to and 3-4 days after each job fair. Be sure to check with the reservation agent or your travel agent about what restrictions apply.
For those who are from out of town and not familiar with public transportation, there will be a free Shuttle Bus from both Penn Station and Grand Central Station to the Minority Careers in Education Expo at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. Buses will run every 15 to 25 minutes throughout the day. Once your day at the Expo ends, board the bus to return you to either Pennsylvania (Penn) or Grand Central Station. Buses will run from Manhattan between 8:30 AM and 3 PM, and the last bus leaves from the Marriott where the Expo is held, at 4 PM.

Leave Pennsylvania Station at Seventh Avenue at West 33rd Street. Directly across the street is the Pennsylvania Hotel.

When you go out through the main Entrance onto East 42nd Street, there is a restaurant on the corner of East 42nd Street and Park Avenue called Piccadilly Square Restaurant.
The busses will pick up and drop off at these two locations. There will be Expo staff at each location to assist you.
